New Edge Orthopedics, LLC is an Orthopedic Surgery practice located in Jersey City, NJ. We have been in business providing the highest quality of care for over a decade. Dr Yaser El-Gazzar is an Orthopedic Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Joint Preservation Surgery. His specialty interests include Orthopedic Adult and Pediatric Sports Medicine and Joint Preservation Surgery as well as Trauma and General Orthopedics. He completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Medical education at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Albert Einstein Medical College/ Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He completed his training by undergoing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Jack Hughston Foundation in Georgia under the mentorship of Champ Baker, JR, MD where he was involved in the care of NCAA, professional, high school, and “weekend warrior” athletes. After founding New Edge Orthopedics, LLC in Jersey City in 2014, he has become the head team physician for Berkley College Athletics, the town physician for Weehawken Township as well as the Team Doctor for Weehawken High School Athletics, and he is currently the Team Physician for many local Hudson County High Schools and Colleges.

New Edge Orthopedics has a myriad of specialities including but not limited to:

  • Hip Arthroscopy
  • Elbow Arthroscopy
  • Joint Preservation (including meniscal & cartilage transplants and re-alignment procedures)
  • Sports injuries such as ACL, PCL, multi-ligamentous, and meniscus knee injuries
  • Shoulder Arthroscopy and Reconstruction/Arthroplasty
  • Ankle Arthroscopy as well as other sports injuries. He also enjoys treating and helping adults and children that have undergone orthopedic trauma and fractures
  • Platelet Rich Plasma Injections

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team at New Edge Orthopedics, LLC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and demonstrate expertise in various orthopedic medical procedures and patient management. You will be working with a population of patients suffering from a range of musculoskeletal conditions affecting bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and nerves.

Daily duties may include but are not limited to conducting physical exams, taking detailed patient histories, prescribing tests and treatments, and then analyzing the results. By working closely with physicians and nursing staff, orthopedic nurse practitioners coordinate patients’ care from the time of injury to discharge. We are looking for a driven and experienced Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner who has experience with surgical alternatives and or functional treatment methods in addition to traditional orthopedics.

Duties

– Perform comprehensive physical examinations on patients

-Exhaust all alternative and or functional orthapedic treatment methods prior to surgery

– Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries

-Setting fractures

-Treating wounds

-Changing bandages

-Monitoring patients’ vital signs

-Preparing patients for orthopaedic surgery

-Assisting orthopaedic surgeons during procedures

-Providing postoperative care for patients

– Manage chronic health conditions

– Prescribe medications and treatments

– Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention

– Conduct minor procedures such as suturing and catheter care

– Provide care for adolescent, teenage, adult and geriatric patients

– Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and coding

– Implement triage protocols for patient assessment

– Ensure compliance with nursing standards and utilization management guidelines

Experience

Required Skills:

-Experience with Non-Surgical, Holistic, Regenerative Medicine and Interventional Orthopedics preferred

– Knowledge of utilization management principles

– Ability to perform minor procedures like suturing

– Familiarity with coding and documentation standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $105,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
